Why are the radio stations being removed from the channel line-up starting in Sept 2020?

Today's cable bill says the radio stations will be removed from the channel line-up. Why?

I was directed to go to www.cox.com/channels but that has no info whatsoever.

Tried the "chat" feature. It asked me if I wanted a new cable box. HUH?

Do you mean the Music Choice channels?  I was always curious how many subscribers actually tune to those.

Yes.  Music Choice. Why the curiosity?

Radio reception in my area is very poor for some of my local radio stations. So I use the Music Choice options. Guess not for much longer though.

      Sigh.

It would be nice to ascertain the reason for removing these channels. Maybe someone there at Cox Communications could address this please?

If there is nothing on or nothing happening, I usually tune to MC as background music.  It's a convenience but with all the other audio options nowadays, I wondered who else does this.

MC does use up a lot of channels, which Cox could assign to actual networks.  To me, MC should be a Contour app and streamed because its probably low bandwidth.
