Thanks Kevin M -- I will tweet at that handle
I think the firmware is updated, the tv is brand new.. I'll look into that
I think the answer to your question of just unplugging the HDMI cord from the TV when the TV is off is NO, you need to do the whole re-power cycle
Our TV is a 65 inch Samsung we purchased at Spencers just a couple of weeks ago.

a cox tech came today (I couldn't be home). I am not sure if he did much/anything, though seemingly this morning the problem did not happen and the cable came on when powering the system on.
i am getting this second hand but the tech said there is a system wide update that will be pushed by cox over the upcoming weeks that will complete the "handshake" so when the tv is turned on the cable box is turned on too & that this has been an ongoing issue w/ 4k tvs
i guess we will see..
thanks all for help :)

We had the same problem this morning with the second receiver and unplugged the HDMI for a few seconds, but it did not work. We had to unplug the receiver and plug it back in to get it to get the TV to work. Same issue with both receivers.

Does this issue apply to the wireless installations only?
- KevinM26 years agoFormer ModeratorThis is currently being monitored for the entire Contour 2 platform, however, the reports I'm currently seeing appear to be only impacting wireless receivers. -Kevin M. Cox Support Forum Moderator
