Cox Communications has had multiple lawsuits and fines imposed upon them by the FTC for violating the privacy rights of its customers. This deal Cox made with Netflix where it forces existing customers to disclose their credit card numbers and personal information to Netflix under the false pretense of it being a "free" service is a clear violation of federal law and even worse it allowed Netflix to gain access to the Cox customer database that Netflix would otherwise not have had access to. https://apps.fcc.gov/edocs_public/attachmatch/DA-15-1241A1.pdf
