Contour Remote XR11 problems

On my Contour remote XR11 the voice control has stopped working. Every time I press and hold the microphone button the screen message is "Press and Hold to Try Again"  No matter how many times I retry the microphone button I get the same message.  I Have reset and paired the remote twice and it hasn't fixed the problem. Is there anything else I can try ?  Or do I need to go to a Cox Store to swap remotes.
