Contour receiver stuck updating

Hello, I just set up my contour receivers yesterday and this morning around 8 I turned on one of them and saw the message “Just a moment… You’ve caught us in the middle of a quick household update. We’ll be finished in a few minutes.”

it has been stuck on this screen for 3 hours now. My 2 other contour receivers work fine. How long is this update supposed to take? Can I unplug or restart this receiver or will that mess it up?

    No update should take that long. Either the box broke or it got stuck. Either way a reboot shouldn't make it worse. If a reboot doesn't work, swap it out at a Cox store.
