Alerts on repeats

I have a couple shows set to alert me on NEW episodes, and I have triple checked that it's on new. But I get random alerts on repeats/reruns. Why?

    i just watched a rerun last night that was a repeat but tagged by the network as new release.

    @Tomasmarkp, The broadcaster determines whether the program is listed as new or as a repeat/rerun. We do not have a way to change the program listings since they are sent to us from the broadcaster. -Allan, Cox Support Forums Moderator.
