I think Cox Mobile is Verizon if that means anything. Either way, shouldn't it be a simple port? I have seen ports from Cox landline to Verizon cellular all the time. Tell me more about this switch limitation.
1.) The ported number must be in the same rate center that you reside in. In other words, if you are moving from one location to another, the phone number must be within the same rate center in order to be ported over. If the phone number crosses rate centers, the port cannot take place 2.) The customer's name must match exactly what is on their account with the other provider. 3.) Customers must keep the telephone number active with the other service provider, in order for the port to be successful. The telephone service is then canceled through the other provider once the port completes.
I am not moving. The landline phone and new cox cell phone are in the same building. I am not changing providers. This is all with Cox. The land line has been with Cox for 20 years. The cell phone is new, purchased from Cox. My simple request to port my land line number to my new cell phone has been unsuccessful. We have turned off the WiFi, took out the SIM and replaced it, I even tired signing in to Cox with Edge instead of Chrome. Nothing. I tried contacting Verizon since Cox is a MVNO with them. But no dice. Since I am not a customer I got nowhere.
