Modems
What is the difference between 8x4 and 16x4. I currently have the DPQ3212 which is 8x4.
It appears you didn't like my reply...perhaps too oversimplified.
8 × 4 would be suitable for 150 Mbps
16 × 4 for 300 Mbps
32 × 8 for 1 Gbps
These aren't written in stone but an idea of modem to data plan.
thank you! That really helps. looks like I should take the suggested upgrade.
What data plan do you have and...more importantly...what exactly is Cox suggesting? Better yet...are you having a problem?
You have to be cautious with "suggestions" nowadays because some reps can help but most just sell, sell, sell.
if your using cox for phone your stuck with what they require you to use and when they say upgrade you upgrade
I agree if the suggested upgrade will be a DOCSIS-eMTA because it'll still be a free loan. However, if Cox suggested upgrading to a DOCSIS-eMTA-Panoramic rental, I'd be leery of their "suggestion."
