just took a bump "down?" to 'p' economy for our phone. it includes caller id. (hurt me!) how do i turn off the voice part?

we have ringers turned off upstairs (scam calls start early!) but of course messages come thru loud & clear & i'm afraid the voice part of the caller id will too. 

we are worthless to anyone until we've had enough sleep.  is there a way i can turn the voice part off?  we don't need to hear "call from chowchilla ca" (isn't there a prison there???) at 8 a.m.
