What happens if you do not upgrade the phone equipment and add the modem? Will the existing phone system cease to function? I had a COX contractor come to my house to install the new digital equipment and he said if i did nothing then the existing phone will still work. He couldn't do the install so he left and did nothing. Is that true? Will my current phone still work anyway?
