They might be trying to say that they have approved us to use that version, but we do not currently offer that version on our cable plant
Thanks again for the info. If in fact version 3.xxx has been approved that is quite a jump up from the old version. I think this modem/ router is at least a half dozen years old and obviously the firmware has never been flashed. Do you suppose you can elevate this question and or ask around why if a later version may have been approved we are still stuck on 6 year old firmware. Thank you.

Copy that. So I guess the bottom line is are you able to find out if this 6 year old combo modem router is due anytime soon for a firmware update or should I just forget about it and don't fix what's not broke. The main reason I am curious is if a firmware upgrade would provide enhancements to my Internet experience (speed perhaps) without enduring the cost of purchasing newer equipment. Thank you.
