what type of coax should I run for internet.

I am moving into a remodeled house without internal coax drops. What type of coax should I run between the outside Cox box and the interior location where I want to place the router?

  • I ran CAT-6 Coax. One step better than the standard CAT-5 thats in most homes. I have DVR and Modem on one drop and never had issues.
  • There is no CAT-6 coax. There is CAT-6 twisted pair Ethernet cable.

For coax, use RG6 from outside to your cable modem then CAT-6 Ethernet to your internet devices.
