I'm running it on Sonoma 14.5 using standard Mac Mail, works for me.
Bill:
Could you please describe how you did it?
I have tried the above method - does not work. Tried by entering account in the System / Mail account, no luck. Cleared every attempt and then tried starting at "Mail" add account / Yahoo no luck. then deleted all attempts tried "Mail / add account / Mail - No luck works ok if I download the Yahoo Mail ap from Apple Apps. Also works if I sign in on "mail.yahoo.com. Can not make Apple Mail work even when making a Yahoo server or a cox server.
The detailed instructions I posted are exactly how I and dozens of others on this thread have done it. the account type is Mail-Other. The only things you have to pay attention to are steps 3 &4. The key is the App generated Password--you cannot use the password you sue to access Yahoo web mail--it will not work. Don't worry about ports. Just be sure you have deleted the old cox account and are using your cox.net username as the username in The new yahoo account --using the paths as shown for imap and smtp--if prompted and generating an app password to put in both the imap and smtp fields.

Problem is that I have Sonoma 14.5 on a MAC Mini M1 and there is no "Mail-Other" there is a "Add Other Account..." which when I click on it I get "@ Mail account" - which does not work, "17 CalDav Account", "CardDAV account", and, "LADP Account" none of which works. as no steps 3, 4, etc.
Hi, Rich. I'm so sorry for the issues with your service. Ensure you've generated an "app password" as the first step. Here are instructions to help: https://help.yahoo.com/kb/mail/SLN36637.html .
