Upgrading a Feeder Line?

Has anyone had success in getting Cox to upgrade feeder lines to a multi-unit building? Every time someone moves in to our complex and gets service hooked up, it either bumps me completely offline as they disconnect my connection or they move me down the "tree" and I get capped service. Each time the service technician comes out they take a look and say "yep, you need a new feeder, I’ll call my supervisor" but nothing ever happens.

I finally downgraded my service to 100mbps since that’s all I can get, but I’d much rather have the service I was paying for.

    I would start by asking your landlord or who ever owns the building. They might be against Cox installing new wiring or maybe they don't want to pay for it. If your landlord is all for it, and it's Cox's side that is pushing back, I would suggest filing a FCC complaint.

    I can see how you could get disconnected in error, but why is your speed slow? Have you checked your modem's signal levels? Is it congestion? Like does the speed drop during peak times when everyone in your area is using the internet?

      There are multiple 1 to 3 splitters. So if you’re closer to the top of the splitter tree you get good signal. If you’re down a tier or two you get really poor signal.

        Understood. Did Cox wire the building like that or did the landlord/owner? I am trying to figure out if you just need more coax from the pole to the building or if all the connections on the pole(tap) are used up. You could look at the tap on the pole and see if all the connectors are used. 

        Either way, it's not something anyone here can fix. You need to communicate with your landlord and Cox directly. See post by moderator.
