Service Hustle
Last night I also had issues watching shows on my DVR. My DVR is relatively new, replaced only a couple months ago and periodically the glitching issue has been a problem. In the past I tried rebooting by unplugging and if this didn't correct the problem I have contacted "Smart Help" at COX to have them reboot it. This has been with limited success. Last night I was frustrated and did these two attempts with not success, so I accessed the "CHAT" at COX. What a mistake, after two hours, and supposedly getting help from three agents, they hustled me to upgrade my account and change my DVR and modem. To say the least, I was completely frustrated after two hours. During that time they assured me that there was no issues on their end but I finally called COX service and heard that COX was experiencing issues in the area.
Even though I declined their promotion I received a notice this morning that an appointment had been scheduled to change my equipment and my billing was going to change.
A review of the COX web site provides no relief to cancel this change, so it looks like I will have to spend more time going to a COX store to hash out this problem.
