Look for a blank wall plate, someone may have removed the one with the barrel connecter and placed a blank on the wall.

I assume you are talking about not finding a coax cable connection point on the wall? If so, you should make sure your home has coax wired in the walls to begin with. Go outside and walk around the walls of your home and look for the area where all the utilities come into your home. Some addresses are underground and some have line from a telephone pole to the edge of the roof and drop in. You may have to call cox and verify that they service your address in the first place.

  • Some homes are also wired into a smart/control panel. These can be found in a closet/pantry/laundry or even the garage. If you are still unable to locate the point of entry, please email us at cox.help@cox.com with your full name and address as well as a link to this thread so we can assist with verifying service and schedule an install if needed. Thank you.

Smart Panels, aren't smart. Worst idea ever. People put wifi modems, or modems and routers in them, and when you put a radio transmitter inside a smart panel, think Faraday cage.
