How do I delete mass emails?

I have been deleting email for hours and the more I delete, the more dumps in. Many messages from Cox telling me I have exceeded my limit and error messages that say unable to delete from mailbox due to over limit. When I started deleting it said I had 6K messages now it says I have over 10K of 54K left to load incoming! I want to delete this whole account and be done with this! I have a MacBookPro. Please advise. I do not use this email anymore because it’s so full of junk and repeat promotions that I have to delete just to find important emails.

    Hi Barb, so it appears you are currently using Mac Mail to retrieve your emails, is that correct? Is this the only Client Server you use to obtain your emails? In other words, do you use a smartphone to retrieve Cox emails as well? Is your email system set to "pop" or "IMAP?"

    On myemail.cox.net, have you deleted emails from that server (we call it the Host Server)? -Kevin M. Cox Support Forum Moderator
