TiffanyR,
Since I am paying COX a ton of money each month, how do I get the gateway you noted in the list provided, specifically the "Technicolor CGM4981"gateway?
If COX is unwilling to allow me to change my wifi channels to optimize my network, this gateway will likely solve the noted issues I'm having.
The 4981 is for 2Gb service only as seen here. The main difference is the newest one is Wifi 6E. The channels are still locked down. If that bothers you I would suggest buying your own router. Not only is it better performance wise but you can save money in the long run.

Problem with buying your own gateway/router:
Other than stupidity, unethical business practices, and/or scams on the part of COX, why should anybody be required to spend the money on something to fix a problem that the current equipment can solve , if only they allowed the paying customers to change their wifi channels, "as they have the last 10 years" before pods?

You could debate all day between what is right or wrong or you could solve the problem. Cox isn't going to change their practices any time soon so your choice is to either switch ISP or buy your own equipiment. Your call.
