Getting email on iPhone after a password change

We had to change our password after it appeared someone had breached our account.  Now when I try to get email on my phone, it will not load the new emails.  I've tried all the instructions on the website, but get the message "The POP server "imap.cox.net" is not responding. Check your network connection and that you entered the correct information in the "incoming mail server" field.  Which I've entered imap.cox.net as well as our new password.  The outgoing is saying the account is verified, however.  What am I doing wrong?  Thanks!

pop & imap servers are different.

check for correct password on both servers.

did you change the pw within cox webmail, settings/change pw?

Interesting. My neighbor and I also were prompted by Cox to change email password because of "Suspicious activity". A few days later, Cox blocked me from sending any email because of "Spam like behavior". A completely outrageous and false accusation. Sorry, I'm digressing.  It is starting to look like Cox was hacked but they are not fessing up to it.

Yes, the same password you created needs to be entered for the sending or SMTP server and it needs to be done on every device you use for email.
