You may have mis-remembered, but your reply wasn't bogus. That word implies not genuine or true; fake. That's not you.
...or just way off.

Remember back when Microsoft got in trouble for embedding Internet Explorer in their software? They're doing something similar with Bing. Microsoft Edge will allow a different search engine to be used on the address line. But the three vertical dots pop-up that activates when text on a webpage is selected will always include "Search with Bing" in the menu, regardless of the default search engine selected. Select "bogus" and hover your cursor over the three dots.

I'm sure Google does the same with Chrome. I've never like MS browsers because it seems kinda bloated and clunky. I always preferred Netscape and then Firefox. I only use Chrome for YouTubing and Gmail.
I only open Edge when cleanup doesn't clean everything after an update. There is always a bunch of "Let's take a tour" garbage waiting to display.

I never see anything about "Let's take a tour". It must be a first-time thing.

No. Chrome requires a right-click on selected text to activate the menu, but the menu selection is Search <default browser> for <selected text>.
I think we just confused the forum with two conversations in the same thread.

Oh, okay...Chrome doesn't override your default search engine.
I was already confused joining the convo.

Sorry about that. Our conversations sometimes drift a bit. The definition of "bogus" was my segue. Back to OP's email situation...
