The gmail app on my android phone worked per the yahoo instructions. But the gmail web site does not work and says the contacted server is at fault. Since there is no gmail app for a windows, the only choice is via a browser (tried chrome and edge). The problem is likely on the google side and they seem to have no interest in fixing it. In the meantime, yahoo&cox seem similarly disinterested. I hoped it would be resolved by now but have finally given up - I'm converting all my cox email contacts to other accounts. Should we consider a common (and simple to fix) problem of this magnitude being ignored for this long is a deliberate act?
Hi jcjohnson55
From my own experience, the reason you are unable to add your Cox email address to your Gmail inbox via the web is that unlike the app where you can pick Yahoo as your provider and enter your credentials, you aren't asked to pick your provider and Gmail webmail is still recognizing your address as a Cox address instead of Yahoo. I'm personally hoping this will be updated once the mail transition from Cox to Yahoo has been completed for all users. I hope this info helps.
