Cox email set up
I just signed up for cox internet. How do I get a cox email account? Is this no longer possible? I want to switch my old centurylink email . Help
I saw this the other day and didn't quite understand it:
As of August 15, 2019, Cox no longer offers the ability for new and existing Cox Internet customers to create new Cox Email accounts.
For email services, there are concentric spheres of trust for users. The email address of your ISP is at the center of that trust.
For example, if I order a bolt from a onetime-use website, I won't use my Cox email to create the onetime account. I'll use an account from one of my outer spheres: yahoo, gmail, hotmail. I'll protect my most trusted account from predictable marketing and spam...about bolts.
I understand fewer customers are using your email service, but that could be due to either mismanagement or customers reserving your service to essential communications.
There are privacy costs with "free" services. Perhaps Cox also invades our email privacy...I don't know...but Cox doesn't need to harvest our data because we're already paying for your Internet services.
This is a bad idea.
