If you connect a printer to 1 computer, you're not sharing the printer.
However, if you configure the 1 computer to share the printer, all device can access the printer as long as the 1 computer...acting as the server...is booted.
If you connect a printer to a router, you're sharing the printer across the LAN.
However, if the router doesn't support printer software, perhaps the printer itself can be configured as the "server."
Wow, this is all over my head. Can you give me the step by step instructions on what I'm supposed to test. I did discover that I can print from my phone, if that helps in troubleshooting.

Did you recently set up your phone to print? If so, you may just need to remap your devices to the printer. Meaning, delete your current set-ups to print and then recreate pointing your devices to the printer.

No, I've always been able to print from my phone. It's just when I upgraded my modem that my printer stopped working.

I found a Canon forum that talked about a Youtube video of someone with the same problem. He uninstalled the printer and re-installed it from scratch from google. I can't believe it worked!! Thank you all for your comments and help.

Now, when I try to print it shows the error, Collecting Printer Status. What does this mean?

What's showing this error...the cell phone? Collecting a printer status is just querying a printer. [You there? Yeah.]
Did you try remapping the printer from your devices?
