Thanks, Darkatt. I recall that around the beginning of the year the WAN IP had changed, but none of our software or devices was affected. I've already tried some pings but not a tracert. Pinging www.yahoo.com was successful but pinging imap.mail.yahoo.com returned the message "Destination host unreachable"
I will check later what the new WAN IP is and compare a tracert with yours

Can you paste the whole thing? What IP did it resolve to? Here is mine for comparison.

Maybe your DNS is not working correctly. If you get a different IP try changing to google DNS (8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4) or Cloudflare(1.1.1.1). If you need help setting up static DNS on one PC, let me know what Linux distro. you have. Here are some instructions for Windows 10.

You'd assume the Store would reset these devices to factory defaults. I wouldn't think a Cox DNS wouldn't have an entry for imap.yahoo. Maybe.

Maybe Yahoo changed their DNS around. jimapinternal.imap.mail.g03.yahoodns.net is a weird redirect but then again I have never pinged that server before. I think there is a option under Advanced settings on the app. See here. Not sure if it works because as per a moderator, you can't set custom DNS.
To access the advanced settings, tap on the Connect tab, then See Network. From the My Network screen, tap Advanced Settings. The following options display.
- Port Forwarding - Enable online gaming, VoIP, and peer-to-peer applications to connect directly to a device on your home network.
- LAN & WAN - Customize your local area network (LAN) settings and view your wide area network (WAN) IP address.
- DNS Server - View the domain name system (DNS) configuration for your home network.
- DMZ - Configure a demilitarized zone for your home network.

If Yahoo changed their DNS and Cox dns servers were not updated, then I would not have been able to ping or tracert their server, since I am on Cox as well. Most likely, Yahoo is blocking their IP address, because a previous person having that either attempted to use yahoo to send spam, or was infected with something that may have attempted to attack yahoo's mail server.
I am going with, Yahoo is blocking their IP address based on current information. Especially since the final destination was the same for both you and I.
