Another Day, Another Outage

This is becoming ludicrous. Already out Thursday for the entire day then various multiple downtimes in just the past 2 weeks. I’ve lived all over the country and this is by far the worst company for keeping their customer internet up and running. They can do this without regard for customer opinion because they have a near monopoly here.

  • I am truly sorry for the inconvenience. I work from home and can totally relate. So that we can assist you, please email my team at cox.help@cox.com. Thank you for being a part of the Cox community.

Everytime an outage happens here in Wichita,Kansas I always sign up for the text notifications and as soon as the outage is resolved, I chat with them (Cox) through their text messaging service or chat and request a service outage credit. They'll credit you for the outage time in your vicinity regardless if your modem/router was actually affected. They can see on their end the amount of time that the Internet was down in a certain location but the text notifications after you sign up for them (which you have to do for every new outage) at least creates the timeline of the outage if they try to screw you out of money for stating the outage was less time than you're claiming. I think it was down one evening for almost 5 hours and they ended up crediting my account a little over $17.00. it was better than nothing. I hope this helps you at least get some of your money back.

Thanks for the heads up on the process for filing for a credit for this horrible service. It’s been down 2 times since your reply. This has turned out to be an everyday occurrence, literally. Must be good to be held to no modern day standard for keeping a network running. When I was in IT (only 30+ years), we took pride in a 5 9s rating for our networks. That means 99.999% up time. This did take planning, effort and execution in a timely manner.
