This is what the service contract states for Fiber customers. This is the link
"For customers served by fiber to the premises technologies, Cox-provided routers/gateways cannot support download and/or upload speeds of more than 940 Mbps per individual compatible device. Customers can reach a total of 2 Gbps via speed test when using multiple compatible devices at the same time. For other network architectures, Cox provided routers/gateways may support up to 2 Gbps download speeds on an individual compatible device."

Please be careful with the link and language because the first thing the service described lists: “2 Gbps For an optimal experience on the Cox Fiber Network, a router with two 2.5 Gbps Ethernet ports is required. Other network architectures require at least one 2.5 Gbps Ethernet port on the in-home modem, router and/or gateway.”
Cox does not offer a gateway that supports this service. I have devices capable of connecting and handling 2.5GB service without the ability to use or maximize because the PW8 is their latest version and the 2 GB port is taken by the line input on port 4.
some places Cox will not let you use your own router to optimize the 2GB service vice the panoramic gateway. I’m open to other options, but still seems shady.
