I am sorry this has been your experience with the App. Are you able to go to Cox.Com and login with no issues? Are you logging in with your Primary User ID or a Secondary? Check out the 2 links below and let us know if that helps.

I can login to cox.com with no issues and I only have a primary ID on my account

No, I can get on my network - I’m trying to access the features on the app like renaming my network

I understand. You should also be able to rename your network when signing directly into the router. The link provides the information on how to sign in.
