Widescreen Guide on 8642HDC???
Hello everyone!
My 4:3 guide is pathetic on my box. Is it just me or is this just "the way it is" I hope there is a quick setting somewhere someone can point me to to get the most basic feature of a widescreen guide.
Also, what is the point of "hiding" channels if they are all still in the guide and not hidden?
I am missing my Dish already.........

You don't mention which IPG is on your box. If you have Passport Echo on it, it only has 4:3. If you are using a 8240/8300 box, only 4:3 is possible. If you have a 8642 DVR running TRIO, the picture S/B 16:9. If it isn't, follow the directions on page 87/88 of the manual. Don't have a manual? PDF version at:

Basically, SETTINGS->GUIDE DISPLAY->OTHER SETTINGS->GUIDE ASPECT RATIO. Select either WIDESCREEN (16x9), or STANDARD.
