My voice mail says that it is experiencing problems, no one can leave a message. Is the service out?

Have you called Cox tech support?

My voicemail has been down for three or four days. I called to get information and to see if there was a workaround to get my VM's, no it can't be done. I also ask for a credit and received a .53 cents credit. That more than makes up for all the trouble :-(

You would think Cox would send out an email letting their customers know about the phone troubles, but I don't think they did.

I can't even change the greeting on my voicemail system to inform my callers that I am not getting their messages.

I see a lot of SuddenLink trucks around the Valley these days anyone ever use their services?

What part of the country are you in?  I'm in California (Orange County) and we have the same problem. I can't get into my voice mail, can't change my outbound message, etc.

I have been trying to get them to fix my voice mail for over a month.  It is supposed to forward messages to my email, but it doesn't.

For the past four days I have been unable to recover my voice messages off of my phone.  I also have been unable to call my sister in Phoenix.  Both my sister and brother are seriously ill. I touch base every evening with my sister to see if everything is okay.  Not being able to reach her due to poor service is upsetting.  I called technical support and was disconnected. I attempted to connect with online technical support, but keep getting told my email address is incorrect.  I have checked and it is not incorrect.  I tried sending an email to cox and got the same error about my email account.  Last summer I had difficulties with my Internet service from Cox.  I feel I should not be charged for times when I cannot use the services.  Tonight I have started to look at other companies that offer Internet and phone service.  I am tired of the difficulties Cox has presented over the past year and found them to be unreliable in the services they are providing.

Hi Aradasky, TooTallJones, and VickiL,

Some of our Cox Digital Telephone customers are not able to access their voicemails due to a technical issue with our voicemail system that began on Tuesday. I am so sorry this has affected each of you! I understand your frustration, as this has affected many of us, as well. Our teams have been working around-the-clock for the past several days, so we are truly working as quickly as possible to restore the voicemail feature. The current issue is isolated to voicemail and is not impacting incoming and outgoing calls, 911, or other phone features.

We are happy to discuss credits once the voicemail system has been restored. TooTall, we'd certainly hate to lose you as a customer due to this outage! We appreciate your business and ask for your patience as we resolve this issue.

VickiL, once the outage clears and the voicemail system is working properly again, please let me know if you are still experiencing difficulty forwarding voicemails to your email. You can email me at coxhelp@cox.com and I'll be happy to investigate for you!

Thanks, Becky

I am sorry Becky, but this does not seem to be true.  My phone is not working.  I cannot call out.  Each day I have tried to contact my sister and have been unable to do so.  I am told to try again later.  After calling technical support and being disconnected I cannot call back.  I keep getting a recording stating voice mail is out, but the phone has not even rang.  I am not able to use my phone at this time.  The technician I spoke to has also not called me back when we were disconnected.

It has been down for over a week...  Agree that in this instance, Cox failed in the "communications" part of their name for not notifying their subscribers via email that the service is down and providing regular updates on its fix.

Cox Digital Telephone Customers,

As you may be aware, Cox is experiencing a hardware issue with its voicemail platform that is impacting some residential Cox Digital Telephone customers - mainly those on the west coast, including Arizona and Las Vegas. We apologize for the inconvenience and frustration this has caused our customers. We continue to work around the clock with vendors to fully restore the voicemail service. We anticipate the full recovery of customer voicemail information, however the service may remain disabled through the weekend.

The issue is isolated to voicemail and does not impact incoming and outgoing calls or other phone features. Please be assured that we are working with the highest level of urgency to resolve this issue. We'll continue to use Cox Forums, Cox.com/Help, Twitter, and Facebook to keep our Digital Telephone customers informed about voicemail issues.

This is a real big pain in the a$$. I have been with cox going on 9 years now, and now I am thinking of changing providers. I have very very important calls to my residential phone, and voicemails are a part of my everyday living and communication of sensitive and important issues. About a week now, this is costing me more money than the measly credit you guys will try to administer.

I suggest that you compensate sufficiently, not just the cents that are charged for the actual service, but for other important losses that your customers have suffered due to this flaw.

Looking for a different provider if an adequate compensation is not administered.

I estimate this has cost me over 200 dollars this week. Do i expect you to compensate that much ? HA... no.

But keep that in mind when you are making your amends.
