I recently bought an Arris SB6138 Modem and replaced my old modem. I'm not sure what speeds I was getting on the old one, but the new one fluctuates wildly between 17 Mbps and (rarely) 120 Mbps. This occurs whether I connect (wired) through my wireless router or directly into the new modem (completely disconnecting the router).
I'm paying for the 150/10 service, and I already called Cox and gave them the MAC and S/N for the modem, so that step has been done. Any thoughts on why my speed isn't correct?

Can you post your signal levels from 192.168.100.1?

I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for, but here are the bonded channels. If this isn't the correct info, I apologize. Either way, I'll have to continue the trouble-shooting after work today. I didn't think I'd get this quick of a response!

Signal levels look good. One thing to check is see what your signal levels are before and during the slow downs.
Also, what is the connection rate between modem and PC? You can find out by right clicking on your local area connection and clicking on status.

I can check that this evening. However, is there anything that would cause the speeds to change so wildly? Last night I was getting 40 Mbps, but did have it spike (on two speed tests) up to 120 Mbps. This morning I was at 17. I was running speed tests every few minutes for more than an hour last night, and there was no consistency at all.
Oh, and thanks for your help on this. Very much appreciated.

Do you have a wireless router involved in your internet setup? Have you tested the speeds directly connected to the router and/or the cable modem? We can check the signal levels from our end as well. Please send an email to cox.help@cox.com with the account information.

I have a wireless router, but I've been testing the speeds with my desktop plugged directly into the modem and it's still very slow. I've sent an email to the address you list, so hopefully someone is able to help.
Thanks,
