Use of Remote.

You must program the remote to the tv. Once that is done, you can press and hold the power button down to power on/off both devices at the same time.

Holding the red power button down for a couple of seconds will turn on all programmed devices.

I know with the older silver remote, you could program the power sequence performed when holding the power button. Is this still the case?

You are correct, Tecknowhelp! Once the silver remote is programmed to turn the TV on and off, you can then "set" the power sequence. With both the TV and the cable receiver turned on, use the following steps:

1. Press the TV button on the remote one time.
2. Press the Cable button on the remote one time.
3. Press and hold the Power button on the remote until both the TV and the cable receiver turn off (3-4 seconds).
4. To turn the TV and cable box back on, press and hold the Power button for another 3-4 seconds.
