Upload speed

Our upload speed on our internet connection is absolutely lousy this morning (3/3/2016). We had a Cox technician at our home last week and he did some things to try to fix it, but he also said that various customers in the neighborhood are having the same problem. When will this finally get taken care of?

Just as a test, read your post and pretend its someone asking you the question. Do you see any data missing that might help you help them? If so, can you post that data? This is a public forum. We are users just like you.

I will help either way, just trying to understand the average poster in this forum.

Hi gary926,

We certainly can investigate this for you. Can you provide us with more details as to the problem you're having?

I'm experiencing this same issue. Upload speeds start out crappy, then just get worse. I am currently TRYING to upload a video to YouTube to show the techs here what I have been experiencing for the last few days. Upload speed starts at a measly 1.95 Mbps (should be up to 10 Mbps), and degrades to 310 kbps over time.

I am in the Phoenix market.

Uploading to various locations has the same slow upload speeds. Download speeds are not the best, but acceptable. Issue tends to come and go, so a visit by a tech would probably not bare any results.

The ONLY place where upload speed measures good is using Cox's speed test. Go figure! Every other speed test, uploading to FTP servers throughout the world, uploading to YouTube, streaming content from my home network to a remote device ALL have slow upload speeds.

@Tecknowhelp: Yes, I have been posting in another thread, but for some reason I am not getting notifications on that thread. Hopefully this one plays nice.

Here is a link to the YouTube video:

This video is 67.4 MB. It took 22 minutes to upload. That is an upload speed of 0.05 Mbps. Should be 10 Mbps.

@appleaddct

Are you using a wired connection when you're having this upload speed issue or does it happen only through wireless?  I would also recommend resetting the modem (and router if you're using one) to see if that will improve the speed issues you're having.

I don't (for some unknown reason) receive notifications from these forums, so sorry for the delay.

I am wired to router (gigabit). Connected to modem gave same results. Yes, I tried restarting everything. The issue was not with me. I gave up and used my LTE connection to upload large files. After a few days, the upload speed improved, and seems to be much better now. So, somebody fixed something (even though everybody said there was nothing wrong with Cox).
