Having to reset modem several times a day

I've been having the same service at the same house for over a decade. The service has been wonderful. Hardly ever went down, minus a few storms.

Out of nowhere, I've been having drops or slowdowns for the past week or so. I've never had to reset the modem this many times. After I reset the service is fine for a while(hours to a day) and then boom my 500 Mbps+ service is DL at 10 Mbps and UL at 2 Mbps. What fixes the issue is a modem reset. It's not any other part of the network. I made sure to check that all ethernet adapters are connecting at the correct speed(1 Gbps) when this happens. I never have to reset my router(PFSense).

I don't know what else to do.

I own the modem.

Hi there. Thank you for contacting the Cox Social Media Support Team. I am sorry that your connectivity has been having so any issues as of late. You have done much of the legwork in troubleshooting. However, it does point towards the modem being the issue, if all it requires is a reset to bring the signal back. That indicates that the signal is present and properly getting to the home, during any of the times you have issues. It is just the one single point of contact that is failing. How old is the modem? We can take a look for any signal issues from this end and can schedule a technician, if need be to double-check your signal and service. But there is a good chance the technician's findings may be just that. If you would like for us to take a look, please email Cox.Help@cox.com with your full name and complete address. We would be happy to help.

I'm having this exact issue with my Panaramic WiFi 2Gb connection. For the last week or so it's been a nightmare. I'm constantly resetting the modem. I test the connection and get 40-70% of the speed I shoulf be. It's made it so that I can even watch streaming video and interrupts console gameplay. Resetting the modem used to fix the connection issue (this has been an ongoing issue for more than a year). But now it barely makes it better. If I'm getting 1200Mbs, a reset will bump it up to 1500 Mbs. But I couldn't tell you the last time I actually got the 2000Mbs I pay for.

Hi ScottTRogers. I do apologize for the service issues you have been experiencing. The same questions apply to you. Is it a Cox modem? How old is it? Resetting the equipment can only go so far, as the modem depreciates. At some point, the modem will fail to respond to those resets and just cease to work. If this issue has persisted, have you had technical support check the service? You may need a technician to verify that signal is good or if not, to fix that part. If you would have us take a look, please email Cox.Help@cox.com with your full name and complete address, and we can take a look further.

I can't get official help past the AI bot. I've no idea who to go to. The Cox website keeps telling me to talk to the chat bot. The chat bot tells me to reset my equipment. And around and around again.

And yes, it's a Cox Panaramic WiFi model XB8. I've had this one since May 2023, I believe.
