TV signal breaking up

I have a problem where my contour 6 box TV signal TV breaks up when I turn on or off light switches in my house. Not every time but I get a grey noise picture and the sounds kicks out. I don't have any other electronics act crazy when I turn on or off a switch.

Hi chuter, I had a similar issue in my home not too long ago. After much troubleshooting and checking the video signal to my house, I discovered a bad ground on the power outlet that my receiver was plugged into. As a quick test unplug the receiver power cord from the outlet and plug a lamp directly into the power outlet on the wall. Turn the lamp on then turn your light switches on/off and see if the bub in the lamp dims or flickers.
