The box may not be the issue. How are your connections? How old is the internal wiring? Try the following steps and let us know if you see any improvement: 1. Remove the cable line at the wall and at the back of the box.
2. Remove any splitters from the cable line leading into the receiver & make sure the cable line is a dedicated line going from the wall into the box.
3. Reverse the direction of the cable and reconnect from the wall to the box.
4. Unplug the power cord from either the back of the box or the wall outlet and leave unplugged for three minutes.
5. Plug the power cord back in and allow it to reload (approximately 3-5 minutes).

Could you explain how this would help? All the other tips are helpful if the tiling starts happening out of the blue, but if OP replaced the box, then 1,4,5 would have already been done in the act of swapping it out. The reversing coaxial sounds like CS sillyness to get the customer to double check the connection.
I think you have low signal going to the box. Removing/replacing any splitters will help but I would suggest having your cable box looked out remotely. Rebooting helps because it clears the repair data buffer and allows the tuner to reject any interfering signal. Usually a bandaid fix.

I wondered same thing. My guess ended up being that if primary center wire was little shorter on one end it might make solid connection to female receiver if depth of receiver was different on the two receiving connectors. Like solid clamp on one while just slightly touching on other. Duh… does that make any sense to you, as I’m not sure it even explains what I’m thinking.
