I am switching to TV Economy. Not happy about the channels its lacking. I see TV Essential has the channels I really like. I wasn't even advised of this option while on the phone with the CSR. I am being given a price of 106 (TV Economy and Preferred Internet).
Does anyone know the pricing for TV essential?

You cannot purchase just Cox TV Essential, because many of those channels require an HD Digital Receiver to view, and some are also SDV, which requires a Two-Way capable receiver.
You must get Cox Advanced TV - $70.99 - $72.99 depending on market

So, in order to actually get Cox TV Essential, you MUST add Advanced TV ($3/mo) and the cost of an HD Set-Top-Box ($8.50/mo) or rent a CableCARD ($2/mo) and purchase a Retail CableCARD device.

I'm sorry, I should have added that a I already have DVR service. I just dropped Advanced TV because my bill had jumped to $169 a month. For Preferred Internet and Advanced TV with a DVR. I do not have extra channels and still have the same DVR since 2005. The TV Economy was the only "cheap" option that I was offered. I did not see the TV Essential package until after I got off of the phone with Cox.
So now do you have to have an HD receiver or can I get the package with my regular receiver?
I am a little frustrated that this was the only option offered; especially since I have been a customer for 9 years. Now I am just leaning towards dropping the TV all together and get Direct TV which is offering me 2 years, double the channels and an HD whole home DVR for 39.99.
Sorry to vent...lol.
