Since not a single Cox customer I know currently has working services, and the local 225 area code number is out, I'm going to guess cox is in the midst of some sort of large systems failure. Is this the case?

Well, seeing as how posts NOT related to the outage are getting answers, I guess it may be a bit of an embarrassing situation for them. But it would be helpful to at least post a notice on the home page, since the phone system is down.

Denham Springs, LA, no internet for over an hour, many cable channels out, local number 225-615-1000 fast busy on landline hangs up on cell, customer svc number 1-866-342-5269 busy, live chat "all representatives busy", no status report, no prerecorded message, nothing, zip, zilch,m zero, nada... I am connected by tethering my cell phone.
Cox, great when it works, awful support when it doesn't.
Edit: just sent a news tip to CNN desk, if others did the same it would be out in the open, a massive letter/email campaign to COX CEO migt be a good idea too:

Phone: XXX-XXX-XXXX
Fax: XXX-XXX-XXXX
I for one am pretty tired of COX using me for a toilet.

RobertC711 I agree why didn't they post info on this outage. When I had TV with Cox I had an outage EVERY day. I only have wi-fi now and beginning on the evening of June 11th I have experienced an outage EVERY day, some long and some short. My upload speeds *** and I have the extra fast internet but speeds start to *** when 3 people are on the network at 1 time. I am in LA and can't wait to get back to my Verizon FIOS in TX. Cheaper and Faster!

Possible issue with eMTA firmware? Patch may have been released and requires phone modem reset.
"Internet & phone back on for 70517. To help speed things along I pulled the battery then unplugged/replugged the modem."
Anyone here having a problem with internet and NOT have a phone modem?

Any info on the nature of the outage. Short, non storm, outages effecting multiple states is pretty rare. Me thinks it has something to do with the upgrades coming? But let me guess...."no comment".

We would like to apologize to our customers who were impacted by an outage Friday morning in our Louisiana market (Gulf Coast market.) The outage occurred around 12:30 a.m. when our system was undergoing regularly scheduled maintenance and our backup system was also temporarily impaired. A major line of fiber on our backup system was damaged by a construction project east of Pensacola, resulting in the need for an emergency repair. All services were restored around 3 a.m. We are continuing to investigate this incident and taking steps to ensure plans are in place to prevent the situation from occurring again. Again, we apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced.

Wow, didnt think I would get such a detailed answer. Was kind of hoping it was upgrade related..but I guess this explains why no notice. Thanks again.

I doubt its related. This was mostly a Florida and Louisiana thing. Might want to make a new thread on it though. Start with posting your signal levels.

HI va_bosoxfans,
I want to help with your connection issues. Everytime you lose connection, does it come back on its own or do you have to reset your equipment? Do you know if you have any splitters connected to the cable line coming from the outlet going to your modem? If so, I would recommend bypassing the splitter and connecting the cable directly from the wall to your modem. Let us know if this helps.

I'm in the Tulsa OK area and every afternoon the internet is down. The router/modem shows no internet connection but after several hours it comes back on. Since it's continual, i've played with it and tried different things but it's always the same. Is there any way to get a free month's usage or a refund on not being able to use my internet? I've missed over a month's worth of evenings with spotty connection time. Thanks.
