TiVo Roamio TV Tuning Adaptor - no tuning adaptor found

I live in the New Orleans area. I bought a TiVo Roamio a couple weeks back. Got a cable card and was missing some channels, so they mailed me a TV Tuning Adapter. The light on it keeps flashing and never turns solid. I had two technicians come out and couldn't solve it saying it's probably a bad adapter. My signal is good. My installation setup is good. I changed the adapter out 4 times already.  The first 3 times it said "no tuning adapter found." This last time it showed up in the diagnostic menu, but after I called to have it updated and paired, it went away and said "no tuning adapter found" again. Waited an hour and it still couldn't find it.

I just read somewhere that I may need to get a firmware update in order for it to be recognized. I just went to the cox store and swapped out both my cable card and TV tuning adapter. Is there a special number I can call or a specialist I can talk to that would know how to update the firmware or somehow get the tuning adapter to work properly?

Odds are you have a bad Tuning Adapter. I had to go through 3 TAs before I got one that worked. The last one was during a lengthy Technician appointment because I figured swapping out to a second one should ahve worked so I didn't think trying a third one would work. It did.

The first TA the light was always solid, as if the power button was stuck in. The CO couldn't even see the TA on the network.

The second TA the light only blinked and would never turn solid. The CO could see this one on the network but it never was detected by the Roamio.

The third one finally worked. All the same steps were done on the first and second one.

The cable card always worked fine, but the TAs are mostly junk. However, that's what the industry came up with, so it's all on them.

Just stick with it, and if need be schedule a tech visit but make sure the tech has done a Tivo installation before and that they bring out at least 2 extra cable-cards and 2 extra TAs as backups. Once the Tivo Roamio with CableCard and TA is working, it's a wonderful TV experience.

One word of note: about once a month be sure to reboot the Tivo and TA (Tuning Adapter). The TA tends to loose connection to the CO and begins to have issues tuning to the SDV channels. A power cycle clears up the issue. Some users have the two pieces of equipment on a lamp-timer to reboot nightly, but I only have an issue after about 4 weeks.
