In order to update the modem's firmware it has to be online and stable.  If the modem is losing sync I'd suggest checking for loose/damaged cable fittings, bypassing any cable splitters you have, and testing the modem on different cable outlets if possible to see if any of that makes a difference.

I have the exact same problem. It just started on the 26th like you, and never had an issue before prior to the 26th. I also have the same hardware configuration as you(surfboard 6141 and ASUS RT AC68U router). This seems more and more like a Cox issue than the modem...

It's been intermittent when the modem reboots but on Thursday it seemed like it was rebooting almost every couple hours.

I contacted Cox chat support, they just resent the signal to reset my modem but that didn't resolve the issue.

My signal strength seems to be fine, I removed all the splitters that was installed, so the modem gets a direct connection from the feed. Given the person who started the thread started having the same problem on the same day, something was changed.

This is my signal log from my modem, shortly after it rebooted.

@professorhm

I'd say you definitely have something going on.  As of looking at it now I only saw 1 upstream channel bonded but a reboot took care of that which may be why the modem keeps rebooting.  It may be necessary for a technician to come out and troubleshoot further.
