Still having connection problems :(

I am still having connection problems this is very annoying. My signal are very good so I am assuming that it is a problem with cox or how my account was setup. Ethernet and wireless mess up, furthermore I was hoping that if a moderator could check my account. Please playing online games is impossible sometimes as my ping number is above 400ms. This has to be a problem with I have very good signal and SNR levels so that can't be on my end.

I would suggest getting a stand alone modem and router, and get a router that has the ability to show you what devices are using what bandwidth and connections. Also one that has a decent logging system. That way you can properly diagnose what is causing the latency on the first hop.

Also, from what you have said, it sounds mostly like a wireless issue since your wired tracert were good. So a wireless site survey would also help. InSSIDer or some other application is a start, and will help if the wireless problem is interference from other networks around you. If it's EMI interference or some kind of interference besides other networks, then that becomes more difficult. May need a RF wifi analyzer which can be pricey. Most of this can be avoided by gaming on something other then Wifi. Wifi by it's very nature is always going to add lag, and lag in gaming is death. Ethernet > MoCA > Powerline > Wifi in order of dependability. Wish I had a easy answer for you, but you don't have a easy problem.

With the exception of speed issues, nothing on your account effect your internet stability. I am not demeaning the idea of having a moderator to look, because they might be able to see a technical issue better then us users can from the forum.

What exactly is the problem? You say ethernet and wireless are "messed up". How so? Are you seeing packet loss? Latency? Does the gateway go offline sometimes? Signal levels look great, but need more data about the problem.

1NT3RN3T, in a thread you started 4 days ago you said "Ethernet never messes up" which points to a WiFi problem.  You never responded to my reply in that thread.  Now you say "Ethernet and wireless mess up".  What is the issue???????

+1. Very confused. here you say you have a SB6121 and DIR-825. I posted that your upstream levels were too high. Here, you say you now have a CM500. You also mentioned something about a splitter or but it wasn't very clear. Then here, you say you have a SB6141 but your going to switch to a CG3000D. Then here, you say you have a DPC3825.

If it's a issue on Cox's end, why have you changed modem and routers 5 times in the last month? You create threads but then don't answer people's questions before making new threads. I know of no way of helping without understanding the issue. Maybe someone else can help. Good luck.

I changed the modems and router to see if the problem would go away but I had a tech a here and he fixed the signals so that can't be the problems he even should me the signals were fine and the all the channels were passing. I create new threads because there isn't a moderator in the thread to check my account. I have clearly stated that my issues are packets dropping and connection issue. So until a moderator checks my account and says that everything is okay I will continue to make new threads because my connection started messing up ever since I downgraded my services from Premier to essential.

@1NT3RN3T,

You mentioned dropping packets. Is this only happening on gaming sites? I do see a little bit of WiFi Interference. Have you tried changing the WiFi channel?

What is "it"? Do you get nothing, then the whole page pops up? Or does the page load at some, and then the rest slowly loads? Do you get a error?  You mention "dropped packets". How do you see this? Are you doing ping tests that show dropped packets? If so, can you please share them?

Also, what modem and router are you using now? This is important if we are going to troubleshoot either device. The moderator mentioned Wifi inference. Once we know what kind of router you have, we might be able to help you change wireless channels or do some other troubleshooting on the device.

The modem/router I am using is actually a gateway Cisco DPC3825. The connection times out or loads very slowly or it gives me an error (DNS PROBE). And when I ping Google.com when my connection isn't working I get request timed out I also ping other websites and get similar results.

Maybe try setting static DNS to Google's DNS? See here for more info.

Please make your own thread unless you have some input to give to the OP. Also, wouldn't hurt to use punctuation and to give more info on your problem.
