Will starter internet service be enough for 4 e-mail accounts and very little net surfing?

What speed is "Starter" internet in your area? If its like 5Mbps down and 1Mbps up, that should be more then enough for email and basic surfing. If you watch Netflix or Youtube in HD, I think you might run into issues, but normal surfing will be fine.
Do you already have internet with Cox or are you looking for new service?

Already have internet with Cox. Rates going up and we are retired and on fixed income. Can hardly afford Cox anymore in this area. Dropping all the extras we can to save money.

Cox in this areais very good at hiding individual cost items. Only info we can find is on bundles and their cost for first 6 months. No normal cost after 6 months is availableunless you sign up!

Oh I know where your coming from. I recently lost my job because of a health condition, so I know all about calling up places and trying to get everything to line up.
If your looking for bang for your buck, make sure you have a DOCSIS 3.0 modem. You can find them on sale for about 50-60$, and as long as you have really good signal, it can almost double your perceived speed.
