I keep receiving emails that appear to be coming from my cox account, which are also being sent to my cox account....how is it possible for the email to appear to originate from my cox account and actually be directed as new mail into my cox account? And I have blocked the addresses and the emails still get through and I have forwarded them to the SPAM section of Cox and they still appear numerous times in my email account.
Please help explain what it takes for Cox or myself to stop these emails from going out and then coming back in.
My guess is someone/thing got access to your password and sending email to everyone in your address book. If you're in your own address/contacts then that would make sense. Try changing your password to something you have never had it before, and keep it changed.
The most likely cause is that your email password has been compromised. You should change it and see if it works.
Are the emails bounceback emails? Are you getting returned mail to your address not just regular emails? That would also indicate someone is using your email for spamming and the solution again is to change your password.
