Cox requires an approved modem or gateway, the gateway includes both the modem and router. If you have a separate modem, any router should work. I would suggest one with gigabit Ethernet ports and dual band. Wireless ac is a plus but at least wireless n. Any router that is cable modem compatible will work with our service. So you do not have to worry about any compatibility list or anything when it comes to routers. We do have some combination modem/router devices that you would need to check against the list.
