Cox installed a wall jack in my kitchen when I changed from Qwest to Cox Digital phone service. Recent rains caused a roof leak and the water ran down the wall and ruined the jack connector.
Where can I get replacements for these wall plates, the home depot does not have them? What is the proper name for these things when used for Digital phone service?
Would appreciate any assistance in getting my phone service restored without the expense of a service call.
Thanks

It might be a telephone wall jack containing a digital telephone modem. I am not sure because I bundled my services with Cox in 2005…and digital telephone modems may have shrunk since then.
When the technician came to my house, he put a heavy, rectangular, white box on the floor near my primary telephone outlet. He connected the box to the telephone wall jack and plugged it into an electrical outlet. I think this box is my 2005-era digital telephone modem. This modem not only allows an analog telephone to use their digital network but also regulates how much current is drawn through the network. Blah, blah.
Perhaps digital telephone modems have shrunk in the past seven years. Shrunk to the size of a telephone wall jack?
If you also have a heavy, rectangular, white box on the floor near a telephone outlet, you only need to buy an ordinary telephone wall jack. Telephone wall jacks adhere to a standard…RJ11…and they are not digital. I found 177 matches on homedepot.com...so I’m sure they have one in stock.
Maybe the rainwater knocked your digital telephone modem offline.
- Verify the power light on your digital telephone modem is lit
- If not lit, restart the modem by inserting a paper-clip…or thin object…into the hole on the back of the modem labeled Reset
If you don't have a heavy, rectangular, white box...have Cox install a new whatever-they-insalled.
Let me know what you think.

BondGoddess,
Did you get this issue resolved? If not, you may need to schedule for a technician to come to your home if what you need replaced is not a regular phone jack. Our Cox Service Protection Plan covers most of these types of repairs.
If you are still in need of support for this issue, copy your above post to an email along with your Name, the Account holder's name, and your service address and send it to coxhelp@cox.com. I can see what we have available to have someone come to your home to make repairs. Our Technicians are available 7 days a week between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. for service visits.
Hope this helps!
