Dear Cox,
My home internet service has spent a good part of the past 2 days inoperable. I have a Motorola modem I purchased after your last network upgrade in November of 2011 because the original technology couldn't handle the higher bandwidth. Unplugging the modem and plugging it back in seems to fix it temporarily but it almost seems a repeat of your last upgrade. Is there something else I should know?

Are you seeing a pattern when it the connection drops like the lights on the modem going offline or flashing, or the computer or a device connecting saying local connectivity only or internet only on its connection status?

Ed,
I had one more episode on Saturday evening. Unplugging the modem and powering it back up seems to clear it but I don't believe I should have to do this daily. Before I purchased my last modem, two co-workers described the same problem with outages and the new modem did fix the problem. Has there been yet another upgrade and my current modem won"t handle it?

Just to add my 2 cents.......I am having the same problem in Gilbert. However, my modem will not reboot and give me service. My connection dropped twice on Saturday for most of the day. I was on my connection for about 20 minutes early in the morning when it dropped and then right after I paid my bills in the afternoon the connection failed again. The modem (Motorola) kept trying to get the connection back with no success. I just now noticed that my connection was live again (Sunday afternoon @ 03:15PM). I'm glad I didn't call their tech people. The last time I did that, they had me rewire my entire network before they realized it was THEIR problem. I explained that I have been working on computers since the late 1960s and know what I am talking about, but their script didn't allow for someone with a working brain cell on the other end of the phone. I am just hoping that Century Link hurries up and installs fiber-optic soon so that I can get their DSL service.
