Poor UpStream Level

I looked at my Modem Stats this AM (Cisco DPQ3212C) and noticed that one upstream channel was giving me a reading of 0.0dBmV.

After rebooting the modem, the 0.0 moved from channel 1 the channel 3.  There are no splitters to try bypassing; only one outside the house - one side goes to the TV and the other side to the modem.  Is this indicative of a failing modem or is it likely a problem in the cable?  If it's the modem I'll just make a quick trip to my nearest Cox store and swap the modem out rather than wait for a service call.

These are my current upstream levels:

   Power Level:
Channel 1: 29.0 dBmV
Channel 2: 26.6 dBmV
Channel 3: 0.0 dBmV
Channel 4: 29.1 dBmV

It could be either actually.  Normally when an abnormally low transmit level is a signal issue it means that the signal might be a little too strong.  Sometimes adding a splitter can help however this would not by any means be considered a proper fix and the open ports would be additional point for noise to get into the lines.  Having a technician come out would probably be the most effective solution.  Should it indeed be a situation of the signal being too strong the technician may suggest adding an attenuator to bring it down some.

Thanks for the info, Chris!  For now, the problem seems to have resolved itself and all four channels are once again in the 29 - 30 dBmV range.  I realize that's a bit low, but that's where they've always been and performance and speed are good, so I'm not going to be too concerned.
