phone inoperable

I live in Edmond and though my cox cable and Cox Internet works my cox telephone is inoperable.  I tried to call Cox on my cell phone but cell lines are all tied up because of the Moore tornado.

I tried re-booting my modem by unplugging the power and re-connecting power and it did not help.  The Power, Downstream, Upstream and Online lights on modem are all green.  The Link light is orange and the Battery light is blinking and orange.  The Telephone 1 and Telephone 2 lights are not on.  I have a Motorola Surfboard Digital Voice Modem.

How do I get my telephone back operating?

Thanks,

It is an across the area problem.  None of us in Bethany have phones.

They are out here in Mustang.  When I could call from my cell I just got a recording saying that they could not take my call at this time.  It looks like they could post something either here or on their Facebook page.

Yukon also;

                     I guess this pushes me to get my cell phone activited.

I give Cox another FAIL on notifying us of the problem, just like they did not when we lost Email here a few months back.

They are probably just really overloaded.  You will just have to wait.  I have posted about this problem on the Cox Facebook page with no reply yet.  I also posted this on the KFOR page.

I live in Edmond also and my phone line was suddenly giving me a busy signal at 5:49pm.  I reset my modem twice and then got just a dead line, but after a few minutes it went right back to just giving me a busy signal.  My internet is working just fine, but my phone line is not.  , tried to access Cox's chat support, but it said all agents are busy.  I saw on the news that channel 4 said that the residential land lines are down due to the Moore tornado, but I thought it would just be related to Moore, not all the way out here in Edmond.  I don't have a cell phone, but they said the phone lines are down and ATT are saying just use the text messaging system.

Have you heard anything yet from Cox about your phone?  I'm having your same problem and can't reach any one at Cox.

Hi, everyone.

First, I apologize for the trouble you've been having getting through to us. Just FYI, at the present time our Facebook and Twitter pages are much faster ways to get in touch with us than the Forums.

As of the last update I have, 9:02 Eastern/8:02 Central, we have a phone switch down in Norman that handles calls for parts of the greater OKC area including Edmond, Yukon, Moore, and areas nearby. Our engineers are still working to restore or reroute the network but it is taking some time.

If your other services are working except phone, then your phone should be restored automatically once the network is back up.

Thank you all for your patience.

I have exactly the same issue!  This is all well and good if all you want to do is call out.  I have resumes out with my phone number on them and I'm trying to find a job.  This does not bode well for me.  I just hope they aren't calling me for an interview.  I think since the phone is ringing when someone calls, Cox needs to give us free voice mail for a month at least so we can have some contact point.  This is getting ridiculous.  I went with Cox many years ago because ATT wouldn't fix my issue of my phone going out every time it rained.  This is the first time ever my Cox phone has gone out.  I'm not happy.  At least give me a discount on my bill for not having service.
