Cox Moderators, do you know anything about the current Pandora outage on Contour Cisco Record 6 DVR? 2 days. Pandora is a fun feature of the Record 6 DVR. I have no splitters. I have one tv. I am in Phoenix. Rebooting the box doesn't help.

We've not heard of any issues affecting Pandora on Contour. What happens when you try to access Pandora. Is there an error message? Are you having issues with any other features or channels?

Thanks, Dina. The error message said "We are currently experiencing technical difficulties. When calling Cox reference 11.1.1" which made me think that it was something Cox was doing. I contacted the Chat Support at Cox and they said to reboot the DVR again. It worked. Pandora is back. They never explained the meaning of 11.1.1. I was not having any other DVR problems.
Dina, can you talk to any of the Cox engineers who deal with Pandora. It is a fun feature. I listen to it daily on my DVR. But it has lots of problems. At least half the time, the "Launch" does not appear for 1-2 minutes after clicking on Pandora. The songs will stop playing mid-song; some songs have no sound altho the time-bar is scrolling; when i switch channels there will be a long lag. When i turn on my computer to see if Pandora is having problems, Pandora is working fine online. I imagine that there can be problems merging the 2 services (Pandora and Cox) but i wondered if the engineers are aware that Pandora is not working as well as it should.
One day might have lots of Pandora problems on the DVR but the next day it will be fine.... without me rebooting the DVR. I don't have any mini-boxes or splitters or routers or wi-fi. Just one tv and one Record 6 DVR.

I'd like to restart your box. It will be different than you unplugging it. When is a good time to do so?
Thanks!

A Cox tech (phone support) did the reset (restart) for me. It didn't change the quirks with Pandora. Then I got a letter from Cox asking me to exchange my Record 6 DVR for a new one because of manufacturing defects. I went to the Cox Store and got a new Contour Record 6. It works fine. But Pandora has the same problems.
I wonder if Pandora gets little attention from the engineers at Cox because so few people use it. Almost everyone listens on their phone or computer; not their tv. But someone at Cox should take a look.

I think you nailed it, yak. My wife & I are big Pandora users but never on our Contour DVR. She has an old 1st gen iPod Touch docked to a speaker and uses that. My AVR, which also connects my Contour DVR to the TV, handles all sound has Pandora built-in. I have the AVR setup to play Pandora either through my home theater speaker system or to a 2nd zone on the deck. So, as you can see, I don't have any need for Pandora on the DVR.
I do agree with you, if Cox is going to offer it as an option, it should work.

I haven't seen any reports on the Pandora App experiencing intermittent trouble for the receiver. We do want to have this looked into. We've put in a ticket to have this looked at. Your account has been notated.
