Internet outage All Day

There is an internet outage in my area and has been out all day. The first time it was supposed to be fixed was 3:40, then 7:40 and now 11:40. I work from home and use this to provide for my family and I am sure others do as well!  I don’t understand how internet can be down all day long. Really thinking about making the switch back to At&t
