New Cisco Modem - port forwarding
Received my free ugraded modem (Cisco) last week, and installed it ( although only after 30 min on phone with support) New speeds look considerably better. However, I used to be able to access a hard drive connceted to my router via port 1025 so I could get files from my home at my work computer. This port now appears to be either blocked or not forwarded. How do I forward it?

PROBLEM SOLVED. It's not the modem at all. Apparently my DYNDNS IP address updater quit running about 18 months ago, but my IP address has remained the same all that time . it changed when the modem was changed. I had to update the new IP address with DYNDNS

Hi martinh,
When you received your new modem did anything else change? If you are using a separate router that should not have affected the settings by getting a new modem. Port 1025 is not on our blocked list (here is a link to that list - http://bit.ly/Ry1Yng), so you should be able to use it. Unfortunately we do not assist with setting up port forwarding for your router, you would need to contact your router manufacturer.

Which "modem" did you receive? Wonder if its actually a modem/router gateway.
